About the Resort

Sustainable Tourism

Salamangka Resort opened in May 2014 and became accredited by the Philippine Department of Tourism in November of the same year. Sustainability, and the respect and conservation of our environment, is at the core of our resort. We believe that when you see the natural beauty of the island and its waters, you will gain a new appreciation for our planet.

Our conviction is more than just words: it’s something we live by and put into practice every day. We’ve installed solar panels at the resort and also working to reduce plastic in the oceans – one of the largest and most visible problems that the world faces – by eliminating plastic drinking bottles and offering each guest a complimentary, reusable aluminum bottle instead.

Our promise to you

We know that the best form of advertising comes from personal recommendations, and the only way to get those is by offering extraordinary service and quality. Therefore, we promise you the following: we’ll make your stay with us as enjoyable as possible by ensuring that you feel comfortable and taken care of, with gourmet cuisine and fine wines.

The Buluhisan

Salamangka Resort is located on the mystical island of Siquijor, in the barangay (district) of Buluhisan. Just off our beach is a large rock that sticks out of the water; according to local belief, there is a creature called the Buluhisan, half man, half fish, that lives on this outcrop. The locals even give gifts and offerings to this mythical creature.
